Spring break & Heat waves

After a few months of downtime and uncertainty, I finally figured out a strategy to move forward with my Blender training. After working my way through a series of tutorials, burnout caught up with me, and I had to take a break until the middle of that crazy hot summer.

That’s when I tried using livestreaming to get back on track, with mixed results. So July 14 marked my debut on Twitch. And to celebrate Bastille Day, what better way than to create a 3D guillotine while listening to Mélenchon’s speech?

After that, I started out with the idea of streaming Mykol’s 100-video training series that I had begun last year, but after two sessions, I realized that this format didn’t work for me and that I’d rather create something original on Blender while responding to some content.

For one thing, it’s more efficient for making quick progress through the whole course, and I don’t think it was really worth watching someone else go through a tutorial.

So, I’m making slow but steady progress on the training: gobo lights, compositor, cryptomatte, fluid and cloth simulations, dynamic painting, etc. I’ll resume streaming once the training is complete.

Other than that, I have a new game in addition to Motchus, called Tusmo:

Motchus

As for movies, I have to say I was a little disappointed by The Odyssey and, on the other hand, very happily surprised by the latest Spider-Man. The other two summer movies I was most looking forward to, The End of Oak Street and Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, I really enjoyed. I also loved this year’s phenomenon, Obsession.
