Watefall Cake Part 2

Part two of Lana Easteregg's Waterfall Cake tutorial: detailed textures, whipped cream on the edges, and the new Array modifier

Second part of the Waterfall Cake tutorial by Lana Easteregg, where I got to add textures to the elements. The main new feature was the whipped cream on the edges of both parts of the cake.

The cake rendering, part two

Created from a ten-pointed star to which the Subdivision Surface modifier was applied to round them off, as well as the Array modifier.

As the tutorial dates back a few months, it was created using version 4.5 of Blender, which did not include the new Arary modifier which is much easier to use. It turned out to be quite easy to reproduce this part of the tutorial and even add a little subtlety and randomness to the whipped cream rosettes.

Having finished the first season of Pluribus, I’m not entirely sure what the series is trying to achieve, but I thought it was an interesting way to reflect on our interconnected, specialized, and imperialistic societies.
